THE PEEVIE WONDERS - Live In Newcastle

Newcastle's loudest newcomer The Peevie Wonders announce their debut headliner!

The Peevie Wonders tout themselves as a high energy colourful four piece who have recently risen from the depths of the river tyne (with a pint in hand). The wild and riffy quartet take pride in their loud delivery of observational and judgemental lyrics. Mixing shouty and spoken vocals with the occasional squeal to help blow off some steam.

The band are ready to liberate their musical silence with their first single going by the name of “Indie Dancefloor Boy”. From the perspective of a short minded, musically stubborn 17 year old in a sweaty smoky indie club. The days where ego outweighed drinking capability. Being so oblivious to the fact that our musical taste was not as individual and well researched as we once thought.

Opening the show are Casual Threats, veterans of the Newcastle music scene who play their own brand of politically charged post-punk. An umbrella term encompassing the full spectrum of 00s rock, late 90s punk, modern indie and a few surprises along the way. Championed by BBC in their native Newcastle all the way up the ladder to BBC 6 Music and Huw Stephen’s at BBC R1. FFO: IDLES, Shame, At The Drive In, Royal Blood and having a bloody good time.
