JAWS THE SHARK – Erase Myself
Jaws the Shark Strikes with a Resounding Single, ‘Erase Myself’, Via Nice Swan Records.
Solid indie-garage vitality- that being the work of multi-instrumentalist Olly Bailey, with what seems to be a continuation of sonorous components in which this time listeners are captured by The Shark’s jauntiness ahead of forthcoming debut EP and scheduled live performances.
Running just over two minutes, ‘Erase Myself’ expresses feelings relevant to escapism in a variation of compact and creative forms. Rolls of snapping snares, reverberating rides resonating respectfully with the ravenous riffs and a rooted rhythm of the bassline gives the project an outlandish zeal. Drawing distortion on the varied vocals as listeners are dealt short verses and a memorable hook named after the title of the song- Bailey’s message is indefinitely defined and undoubtedly misinterpreted.
Despite elements of familiarity from previous singles being present, the release remains vigorously individualistic in sound, meaning and energy; further envicing Jaws the Shark’s voluminous potential amongst the indie-rock scene which is expected to rise in the coming months.
